Microsoft's Volume Licensing Program There are basically three license options available for Microsoft's Open Volume License Program.  They are Open License, Open Value, and Open Value Subscription.   Open License:  It's a one time payment and you own the rights to the software.  Software Assurance can be added to an Open License program and is limited to two years.   Open Value:  A three year program that includes Software Assurance and Training.  The payments for a Microsoft Open Value License can be spread out over a three year period.   Open Value Subscription:  This type of license requires you to subcribe to the license or services; you do not purchase the license.  As you employee count increases or decreases your bill will be adjusted at the anunal due date.    The following video explains the Microsoft Volume Licensing Programs. http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/licensing-options/media/open-comparison.asx
